From neuroscience to MDS, or: on the shocks of finding your data is exhaust w/ Simon Podhajsky (data lead @ iLife Technologies)

As a lapsed neuroscientist who's made the conversion to a Modern Data Stack practitioner, Simon knows what it takes for folks on a similar path to get into data -- and what hiring folks should look for in this (somewhat unusual) funnel. This talk will cover both the overlap and the gap between his prior knowledge and what he needed to learn, highlighting the unexpected stepping stones, and venting about the notion of "data as exhaust".
